Shopify SEO automation on autopilot
Shopify SEO automation means software runs the work an SEO team would: finding the queries your customers search with, writing and optimizing articles, publishing them on a schedule, and tracking the results. Seonix does exactly that for Shopify stores — it researches keywords with real demand, generates optimized articles from your store's business profile, and publishes them straight into your store's native blog through the Shopify Admin API.
You connect the store once with an Admin API access token, approve the content plan, and choose how much control to keep: review every article inside Seonix before it ships, or let the autopilot publish on the cadence you set. Everything below is what actually ships today — no roadmap promises.
What Seonix runs for your Shopify store
One connected store gets the full loop — the same four stages an in-house SEO process would run, executed continuously.
Research
Seonix analyzes your site and builds a business profile — what you sell, who you serve, how you sound. It then researches queries with real search demand, clusters them into topics, and lays them out on a publishing calendar you can edit.
Write and optimize
Each article is generated against your project profile with on-page SEO applied at creation time: optimized title, meta description, subheadings, internal links, and images. Content generation works in 50+ languages.
Publish on schedule
Articles land in your store's native blog through the Shopify Admin API — with the title, handle, full HTML body, summary, featured image with alt text, and author byline already set. Re-publishing after edits updates the same article instead of creating a duplicate.
Track and refresh
Seonix follows rankings and traffic per published page and checks where your brand appears in AI answers. The calendar mixes new articles with refreshes of existing ones, so winners get stronger instead of decaying.
How to connect Shopify to Seonix
The connection runs on a custom app token you create in your own Shopify admin. It takes a few minutes, and Seonix only ever receives permission to write blog content — your customer and order data stays out of reach.
Articles go to the blog you specify, or to your store's first blog by default. The blog itself must exist — most stores already have the default "News" blog, and creating a new one takes a couple of clicks in the Shopify admin.
- 1
Create a custom app in Shopify
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps and click Create an app. Grant it the write_content scope and install it in your store.
- 2
Copy the Admin API access token
After installing, copy the Admin API access token (it starts with shpat_). This is the only access Seonix needs — the right to write content, with no access to customers or orders.
- 3
Paste the details into Seonix
In the Seonix dashboard, open Channels → Shopify and paste your store domain (your-store.myshopify.com) and the Admin API access token. Optionally set a Blog ID (otherwise the store's first blog is used) and an Author name for article bylines (otherwise the store name appears). The token is stored encrypted.
- 4
Click Connect — Seonix verifies instantly
Seonix automatically checks the connection the moment you save the form and shows the result. You can re-run the check anytime with the Verify button on the channel panel.
What the autopilot delivers
Auto-publishing has two modes, set per project. In draft mode Seonix plans and writes on schedule, and every article waits for your approval inside Seonix before it goes to your store blog. In auto mode approved-plan articles publish themselves at the scheduled time. The free plan covers the technical site audit; publishing automation is part of paid plans, starting with Starter at $49/month instead of $100 — 51% off, or $470 a year instead of $1,200.
- Up to 30 published articles per month on the Starter plan
- Publishing cadence from daily to weekly — you set the rhythm
- A visual content calendar you can edit before anything ships
- New articles mixed with refreshes of existing ones
- Email when an article is published; Telegram alerts can also announce drafts ready for review
How Seonix publishes to your Shopify blog
Seonix publishes through the Shopify Admin API into your store's native blog — the same one you see in the admin under Blog posts. Your theme renders the articles as regular blog posts, so nothing about your storefront needs to change: no theme edits, no embedded scripts, no new templates.
Native posts, rendered by your theme
Articles are created through the Shopify Admin API as regular blog posts. Your theme displays them exactly like posts written in the admin — same layout, same styling, no theme changes required.
Complete articles, not bare text
Every post arrives with a title, a handle (slug), a full HTML body with subheadings, lists, and images, a summary, a featured image with alt text, and an author byline.
SEO meta lands in the Search engine listing
The SEO title and meta description are written into the exact fields Shopify shows as the article's Search engine listing — the same place you would edit them by hand in the admin.
Updates without duplicates
Re-publishing an article after edits updates the same post instead of creating a copy. If an update changes the title and slug, Shopify creates a redirect from the old URL, so links that are already indexed keep working.
Blog choice stays yours
Articles go to the blog you set in the channel settings, or to your store's first blog by default — most stores ship with the "News" blog already in place.
Images handled for you
Article images are hosted on Seonix's side and passed to Shopify as URLs — no manual uploads or file management on yours.
Frequently asked questions
What access does the Admin API token give Seonix?
Only what you grant it: the custom app carries the write_content scope — permission to write blog content — and nothing else. Seonix never sees your customers or orders. You create the token in your own Shopify admin, and Seonix stores it encrypted.
Why does an online store need SEO articles at all?
Product and collection pages mostly rank for queries from shoppers who already know what to buy. A blog next to the catalog catches the informational searches that happen earlier — questions, comparisons, and guides in your niche — traffic a store without content simply does not compete for. Publishing consistent, optimized articles lets your store show up at that stage and introduces the brand before the buying decision is made.
What exactly does a published article include?
A native Shopify blog post with the title, a handle (slug), the full HTML body with subheadings, lists, and images, a summary, a featured image with alt text, and an author byline. The SEO title and meta description are written into the fields Shopify shows as the article's Search engine listing — the same ones you would fill in manually. Images are hosted by Seonix and passed to Shopify as URLs.
Can I review every article before it appears in my store?
Yes. In draft mode, Seonix plans and writes on schedule, but every article waits for your approval inside the Seonix editor before anything is sent to Shopify. Once an article does ship, it ships as a published post — there is no draft stage on the Shopify side, so the review happens in Seonix. Full autopilot, where approved-plan articles publish automatically at the scheduled time, is opt-in and set per project.
What happens to already-indexed URLs when an article changes?
Re-publishing after edits updates the same article in place, so no duplicates appear. If the update changes the title and therefore the slug, Shopify creates a redirect from the old URL to the new one — links that are already indexed by search engines or shared elsewhere keep working.
How fast will automated SEO show results for a store?
It depends on the store's starting point. New pages need to be crawled and indexed first, and competitive queries take longer to move — organic growth is typically a matter of weeks to months, not days. Seonix shows progress per page from the first publish, so you see indexing, impressions, and rankings as they develop instead of waiting blind.
How much does Shopify SEO automation cost?
The Free plan at $0 includes a full technical audit of your site. Automated publishing is part of paid plans: Starter is $49/month instead of $100 (51% off), or $470 a year instead of $1,200, with 30 published articles per month. A 3-day trial for a one-time $1 analyzes your store and publishes 3 real articles, so you can judge the quality before subscribing. One Seonix project publishes to one platform — if you run several stores, each simply becomes its own project.
